Friends, life is so wild right now.
In the past month I was on tour with the current state of claustrophobia, travelled to London for a (very) short trip, played a few shows with my band and by myself, wrote new songs and worked on the latest video projects, that are still in the pipeline around here.

So, sorry I didn’t call. I’ll try to be better about that.
But if you’d like to check out a more detailed tour diary and some other behind-the-scenes footage, you can head on over to my patreon page: Patreon.

I’m also part of the New.Heimat.Sounds-community now. They are a network of artists from the rhineland and support emerging bands and songwriters. If you want to take a look, this is their website: New. Heimat. Sounds.

Also also I am playing a bunch of shows in september. I’d love to see you live, so if you feel like coming over, check this out: Gigs

That’s it from me. For now.

Lots of love to you!

Bonn, July 2nd 2019

Things are brewing at Casa Clasen.
There are some sweet video projects and some fresh songwriting bubbling under the surface as well as a BUNCH of gigs. Many of them are actually with the band, so you if you fancy a solid head bang, let me redirect you to the page with all of the information: Gigs
As a matter of fact, we are also currently perparing for a secret band project which I obviously cannot tell you about. But let’s say if you were one of my patrons, you would already know about it….
(Don’t know what a patron is? Oh, just the coolest people walking the earth. If you care to find out more, another shameless self-promoting link is coming straight your way: PATREON)
In other, solo-gig news: I will soon be touring for the first time! As in „seriously touring“. As in „eight-gigs-in-eight-cities-throughout-Germany-within-14-days-touring“. As in „we-will-actually-be-on-the-road-in-a-band-van-kind-of-touring“.
Who is we?
That would be my friends over at The Current State of Claustrophobia and me. Together, we will be playing a bunch of cities on the #raiseyourvoice-tour to support Kein Bock auf Nazis. They are committed to educating people about Neo-Nazis and fighting their propaganda. You can click the link to learn more and you can check both band pages for details about the gigs.
We would love to see you!

Berlin, May 14th 2019

Here’s some behind the scenes footage of the development process for „Exhibition“. It goes along with a new podcast episode that you can find on my soundcloud page: PickApartist Episode 3: Exhibition.

Other than that: I’m in Berlin right now. I played three shows already and they were a lot less intimidating than I expected them to be. People here are really nice and some of them even sang along to my songs.  ❤
I have one more gig scheduled for Thursday. Until then I will keep on soaking up the big city vibes and try to write some new music. After that I’ll be heading from Berlin straight to Neuwied on Friday for my next show. But you can read all about that in the GIGS-section.

See you soon!

Bonn, April 2nd 2019

Today’s the day – the music video for „Exhibition“ is out and alive.

Here’s a link to the full video on YouTube –> Exhibition Video

This song and video mean a lot to me, because from the very beginnig of the songwriting process, this project has fundamentally relied on your input. The lyrics were compiled of real-life quotes said to actual people, you helped me record the choir in the end and I certainly couldn’t have made this video happen without you.

You can listen to the song on Spotify: Exhibition on Spotify

The lyrics can be found right here on this website (or you can turn on the subtitles on the YouTube-Video): Exhibition Lyrics

If you like the video, be sure to share it with your friends. We’ve come pretty far already as a society, but there’s still need for conversation, support and (most importantly) action in terms of equality.

Bonn, February 6th 2019

I’ve been neglecting this site a little.
I’m sorry.
But I’m back and I’m live – well, sort of.
I have recorded my first podcast and, – who could have guessed? -, it’s about music. Songwriting, to be more precise. It’s called PickApartist and it was inspired by the „Song Exloder“ podcast by Hirishikesh Hirway ( –> The link will take you right to it, you should definitely check it out.)
In PickApartist I dissect one of my songs each episode, starting with „Fire“ in the first one. The format is meant to give information about the songwriting process, inspirations for the lyrics, how the songs change in the studio and why certain production decisions were made.

You can find the first episode here:

Let me know what you think. More episodes to follow!

See you soon!

Bonn, December 31st

2018, you have been quite the ride.
And as you are drawing to a close, I think a moment of gratitude is appropriate.
Thank you to each and everyone who bore with me while I tried to figure things out and to everyone who still supports me in doing so.
Thank you to everyone involved in the making of the album and the release: I would have had nothing to show for myself if it hadn’t been for all of the talented musicians, my producer, my friends, awesome performers, dancers, hands-on helpers, organizational wonders, the concert venue and the sound-and-light-guys, the BUSC, my family, my band, my boyfriend, people who talked or wrote about the release on the radio or in newspapers, on facebook, etc., anyone who gave their feedback and Lena who designed the album artwork.
Thank you to my patrons for supporting me financially and emotionally on a regular basis. I am humbled by you spending your hard-earned money on me.
Thank you to whoever listens to my music. That is insane.
Thank you for letting me do what I love.
I’m wishing all of you the best for the coming year(s).

And now, off to new absurdities.
2018, you have not always been easy on me. But I am so happy you happened the way you did.
2019, get ready. I’m coming for you.

It happpened!
The album is out!
We had a big-ass release party!
It was the most amazing event!

So many wonderful people helped make this baby happen, I am lost for words and happy and proud and at peace with the world right now.
If you want to listen to the album, you can do that either on Spotify, Deezer, Amazon, iTunes or any other streaming service of your choice, or you can write to me and I’ll mail you a physical copy!

Bonn, September 20th

It is happening, people.
On October 11th 2018 my first studio album will be released to all digital outlets, as well as in physical form. You can get the latter straight from me, right on the release date, because there will be a big-ass party!
Starting at 8 pm at the Brotfabrik in Bonn, there will be a ton of special guests, art, music, dance, other surprises and me performing with my live band for the first time!
You shouldn’t miss it if you enjoy the concept of „fun“.
Hope to see you there!

So here’s something cool: I’ve joined the Patreon community!
What’s Patreon?
It’s a type of crowdfunding website that allows you to pledge a certain amount of money to a creator that you like each month. In exchange, you get access to all kinds of great stuff that this creator makes available to you.
In my case, you can choose from behind-the scenes-footage of the album production (and my life, haha), personalized postcards that I will send to you once a month, exclusive cover versions of songs that you choose, live-streamed private concerts and even songs written for you about a topic of your choice!
Here’s a little video about it:

If you are interested in supporting me, here’s where you can do it:

Clara’s Patreon account

The cool thing about Patreon is that it’s a way to secure a predictable monthly income for artists while keeping their supporters involved in their creative work. I support a few creators myself, each for a little more than the cost of a cup of coffee, and I really like the things I am getting in return.
So if you consider supporting me – thanks a lot! It means the world.
